Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the quality for both pictures at the NS and SS time by securing the different target voltage for the pickup tube at the reading time of the NS (general high-speed scanning) signal and at the SS (lower-speed scanning than NS).
CONSTITUTION: Pickup tube 1 containing photoelectric element RP and picture element CP carries out both the high-speed and low-speed scanning via change- over switch 2. Voltage source ETNS is the target voltage source which is applied between the target and the cathode at the general high-speed scanning time; while voltage source ETSS is the target voltage source which is applied between the target and the cathode at the low-speed scanning time respectively. And ETNS> ETSS>O is satisfied. Thus, the target voltage can be made different between the high-speed and low-speed scanning via switch 2, with no increment of the dark current at the low-speed scanning time. In this way, both the S/N and the picture quality can be enhanced for the output signal at the low-speed scanning time.
