Abstract

PURPOSE:To always obtain liquid air at a constant rate by coupling a compressor for compressing raw air with a two-phase flow expansion turbine to utilize the expansion work as auxiliary power of the compressor. CONSTITUTION:LNG is introduced into LNG evaporator 1 through pump 9, and raw air is fed to the suction hole of compressor 4 through air filter 6 and air introduction pipe L1. Air compressed by compressor 4 is introduced into air cooler 10 through seawater cooler 5, dehumidifier 8 and conduit L2, and then supplied to LNG evaporator 1 to form high press. satd. liquid air of lower temp. The liquid air is introduced into expansion turbine 2, and the expansion work is recovered as auxiliary power of compressor 4 with coupling 14. The expanded air is separated into gas and liquid, and the gaseous component is heat exchanged with air cooler 10 and fed to the suction hole of compressor 4.
