Abstract

PURPOSE: To dehumidify blast air for a blast furnace effectively, by spraying methanol into humid air before passing a blast furnace blower in order to dissolve moisture contained in the air into methanol.
CONSTITUTION: Into air removed of dust in an air filter 1 is sprayed methanol through methanol-spraying nozzles 17. The moisture of the air is dissolved into the methanol to form a methanol soln., which is separated from dried air in an eliminator 2. The dry air is delivered to a blast furnace through a blower 4, a hot stove 15.
