Abstract

PURPOSE: To considerably suppress moire with object pattern information produced when sampling meshes are used by forming discontinuous non-transparent portions in the boundaries of respective phase regions of a pseude-random phase plate.
CONSTITUTION: Non-transparent portions are formed with squares of Δ3 in length of one side at respective corners of element regions by which the inteference effect of the four regions with themselves contacting at the corners on the image plane is considerably reduced and noise suppression equivalent to that when sampling meshes are used may be performed and yet the areas of the portions shaded by the meshes decrease considerably and therefore the hologram diameters may be maintained at about the same as those when there are no meshes and moire may be suppressed as well.
