Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the prevention of out-of-focusing and the miniaturization of the apparatus by occasionally reading out the distance information having been stored thereby controlling the position of a photographic lens.
CONSTITUTION: First, second latch circuits 33, 34 which store distance information are provided and are connected to a motor control circuit 39 via D-A conversion circuit 38. Then, when a cam mechanism 8 is driven by a motor 5, a turning mirror 4 turns, whereby subject scanning is accomplished. At the same time, a disc 22 rotates and its sliding contact pieces 27 make contact to comb tooth electrodes 24 subsequently. The pulses generated thereby are applied to a counter 31 via waveform shaping circuit 30 and are stored as the distance information from the specified position up to the subject in a first latch circuit 33. Next, the distance information of the first latch circuit 33 is written in a second latch circuit 34 via changeover switch 35 and is inputted to a motor control circuit 39, by which a photographic lens 40 is position-controlled and focusing is thereby accomplished. Thus, the utilization of a microcomputer is made possible and this coupled with the application of a triangular distance measuring mechanism miniaturize the apparatus.
