Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the performance of an auto adjuster to be tested in putting on a brake by putting a drum block opposed slightly movably in the direction far from a brake shoe, and allowing the frictional state of the brake shoe to reappear.
CONSTITUTION: When a geared motor 43 is revolved in a fixed direction, a revolution force is transmitted onto a screw shaft 37 through a sprocket 44, a chain 45, and a sprocket 41. Due to the revolution of the screw shaft 37, a cam frame 35 rises up through the screw action between a nut 40, and a cam follower 33 which is pressed onto the tapered surface 35b of the cam frame by a spring 34 is moved leftward by a cam action. When a service brake and a parking brake are operated alternatively as in the near state of brake operation for actual cars, brake shoes 2 and 1 are pressed onto drum blocks 24 and 24' respectively, and drum blocks are shifted to the receiving position for followers 33 and 33'.
