Abstract

PURPOSE: A polyester composition with high impact strength and tap strength that is produced by adding flat-shape glass flakes, talc and amorphous inorganic solid to an aromatic polyester in specific proportions.
CONSTITUTION: To an aromatic polyester with a reduced viscosity of over 0.70 measured in the concentration of 1.2 g/100 ml in orthochlorophenol at 35°C are incorporated (B) flat shaped glass flakes of less than 100 microns in length and more than 5 in aspect ratio, (C) talc of 1W50 microns in particle diameter and (D) an amorphous inorganic solid as quartz powder, wherein their proportions satisfy equaltions IWIV where A, B, C, D mean the weight parts of each ingredient.
