Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a cage of sight-seeing elevator, which is provided with a number of illumination lamps on the surface of its outer plating that can be flashed in a direction opposite to the motion of the cage, whereby it is enabled to amplify the motion of cage virtually.
CONSTITUTION: Illumination lamps 4 are provided on the surface of outer plating 3 of elevator cage 1 that is driven upward and downward along hoistway 5, and these lamps 4 are flashed in a direction opposite to the motion of cage 1. While the cage 1 is stopped, all of the lamps 4 are lighted. When the cage 1 begins to move upward, these lamps 4 are turned OFF successively from those located at the upper-most row on the outer plating 3 to the lower rows, through the cooperation of operation control system and flashing means. When the flashing position reaches the lowermost row, it returns again to the uppermort row. The above procedures are repeated while the cage continues to move upward. In contrast, when the cage 1 is moved downward, flashing position is shifted upward from the lowermost row. That is, flashing position is shifted in a direction opposite to the motion of the cage 1, so that speed of the cage 1 seems to be faster than the actual speed.
