Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely protect the optical fiber and lead in the optical cable by using an adapter which accommodates optical fibers by giving a margin of length. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber codes 15, 15 from the optical connectors 14, 16 of a light transmission unit 4 are connected to the optical fibers 2 of an optical cable 1 which is accommodated within the housing 7 of an optical cable lead-in adapter by being given a margin for length by connectors 10 thru 13. This cable 1 is fixed by way of an annular protrusion 6' fitting into the groove 19 of the fixing mechanism 9 provided to the housing 7, by which the exposed areas of the optical fibers are surely protected from the outside and leading-in of the optical cable may be readily and surely performed smoothly owing to the margin of length of the optical fiber in the adapter.
