Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct the deviations of tracking from straight line with high accuracy by controlling an electro-mechanical converting means by the output of the mechanism consisting of periodic signal outputting means, adjusting means and mixing means. CONSTITUTION:A tracking correction circuit 20 consisting of oscillators 221 thru 22n, phase shifters 231 thru 23n, gain control circuits 241 thru 24n, rotation detector 21 and mixer 24 is connected via driving circuit 17 to a bimorph plate 14 being an electro-mechanical converting means to support the head chip of a rotary magnetic head displaceable in the gap direction. As a result, the oscillators 221 thru 22n output a plurality of periodic signals according to the revolutions of the rotary magnetic head and these are subjected to adjustment of their phases and maximum amplitudes and gain controlling in the phase shifters 231 thru 23n, after which they are mixed in the mixer 25 and the bimorph plate 14 is driven by the output of the mixer 25. The deviations of the magnetic head from the recording tracks are highly accurately corrected without increasing the mechanical accuracy of the rotary magnetic head device.
