Abstract
PURPOSE: To form embossed patterns including minute wrinkle pattern, easily and without fail, by bonding a decorative paper to the surface of an embossed substrate by wind pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a substrate 1, e.g. a chipboard, is furnished with a number of cavities 4, 4, ..., by pressing with an embossing roll 3 having a number of minute protrusions 2 on the surface. An adhesive agent 5 is applied to the surface of the substrate 1 and the inner walls of the cavities 4; and a sheet of decorative paper 6 is placed on the adhesive layer 5 and bonded by applying wind pressure thereto, to obtain the objective decorative laminate. When the depth of the cavity is larger than four times the thickness of the decorative paper 6, the decorative paper fits closely to the contour of the cavity 4; and when it is less than four times, the decorative paper exhibits socalled wrinkle pattern at the part corresponding to the cavity.
