Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an adduct in a high yield, by addition reaction of a silicon compound, e.g. silane, with an organic compound having an aliphatic double bond in the presence of a specific platinum complex free from decomposition even during the sotrage for a long time.
CONSTITUTION: A silicon compound, e.g. a silane, of formula I: (X is halogen, alkoxy, acyloxy group, etc.; R' is monofunctional hydrocarbon group; K is 0, 1,2, or 3; l is 1,2, or 3; K+l=1, 2, or 3), having one or more hydrogen atoms directly bonded to the Si atom in one molecule is added to an organic compound having one or more aliphatic double bonds in one molecule, e.g. propylene, etc. in the presence of a platinum complex, e.g. (1.5-cyclooctacline) ptcl2, etc., of formulaII: (A is 4W16C cyclic diene hydrocarbon group) at 20W120°C to give an adduct having C-Si bonds.
EFFECT: Addition reaction can be carried out smoothly with a solvent in an amount smaller than ever without using alcoholic solvents.
