Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the formation of a metal-back film at an unneeded place without causing the breakaway phenomenon of the metal-back film, by using a photosensitive water-soluble emulsion as a substitute for a lacquer film.
CONSTITUTION: On the surface of face plate 11, fluorescent-substance dots 12 and light absorptive film 13 are formed and on its reverse surface, photosensitive and water-soluble emulsion film 14 is formed. By using film 13 as a mask, film 14 is selectively exposed and developed to remove film 14 at the reverse surface part of film 13 while leaving film 14 at the reverse surface part of dots 12. Then, aluminum film 15 is vapor-deposited as a metal back from the reverse surface of film 14. Through a heat treatment, film 14 is made into gas and to disappear. The gas produced through this heat treatment, since film 15 should be metal-backed directly to fluorescent-substance particles at the reverse surface of film 13, is scattered from gaps among fluorescent-substance particles, so that the metal-back film will not break away.
