Abstract

PURPOSE: To relatively easily pull out a hand nipped between the automatic sliding elevator door and the entrance frame in the initial stage of the door opening, by causing the door to perform safety operation halfway in its opening.
CONSTITUTION: A safety device 1 consists of a safety relay 2, a normally closed contact 2a of the relay, a first timing relay 3, time limit reset normally open contacts 3a, 3b of the relay 3, a second timing relay 4, a time limit reset normally closed contact 4a of the relay 4 and normally open contacts 5, 5' of a door open/close instruction unit. When a door opening instruction is applied, the relay 2 and a controller 6 are energized to start opening the door. Simultaneously, the contact 2a is opened and therefore the relay 3 is de-energized. When the door is opened to a certain degree with the lapse of the time set by the relay 3, the contacts 3a, 3b are opened and the controller 6 is de-energized and the sliding door stops temporarily. Therefore, the hand nipped can be relatively easily pulled out.
