Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove an organic acid polymer effectively with ease, by adding a cationic surfactant to an aqueous solution containing (meth) acrylic acid to deposit poly (meth) acrylic acid, followed by easy extraction and separation of the (meth) acrylic acid.
CONSTITUTION: A small amount of a cationic surfactant is added to an aqueous solution containing acrylic acid or/and methacrylic acid [(meth)acrylic acid] and on organic solvent to deposit poly(meth)arcylic acid present in the interface between the oil and aqueous layers. The (meth)acrylic acid is extercted and separated to remove the polymer. An alkylamine of formula II, alkyl-amine acetate of formula III, alkyltrimethylammonium chloride of formula IV, etc. may be cited as the cationic surfactant.
EFFECT: Separation rate is very high without causing emulisification.
