Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect deterioratin of arrestor with high accuracy by increasing the voltage distribution of sintered metal oxide non-linear resistor groups toward the ground.
CONSTITUTION: In the arrestor using a sintered metal oxide (zinc oxide, etc.) nonlinear resistors, housed in an earthing metal conainer, assuming the voltage share of the resistor element groups to be V1, V2, V3, ...., the voltage distribution is made to be greater toward the ground in the way, V6 V1 V2 V3 V4 V5, by selecting properly the values of impedance, Z1-1, Z1-2........Z1-n. Thus, greater stress always imparts on the V6 element group than on the other element groups, thus serving as monitor for the detection of zinc oxide element deterioration.
