Abstract
PURPOSE: To carry out high speed treatment of a wire rod by alternately placing the rod round each driving roll and guide rolls in the vicinity of the roll and passing the rod through a treatment vessel many times to make the tension of the rod uniform.
CONSTITUTION: Wire rod 8 is first placed round electrode roll 3 and passed through electrolytic treatment vessel 1 by the guide of guide rolls 6, 6'. Next it is turned back by driving roll 5 through electrode roll 3' and returned to roll 3 by the guide of swing preventing roll 7 and grooved sieve 4. Rod 8 leaving roll 3 is turned back by grooved sieve 4' through guide rolls 6, 6' and electrode roll 3', and retured to electrode 3 by the guide of roll 7 and sieve 4. Rod 8 is then alternately placed round roll 5 and sieve 4' in a similar way and passed through vessel 1' desired times. Thus, the tension of rod 8 is made uniform by the above guide to prevent breakdown.
