Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve resistance against earthquake by injecting gas at the earthquake from gas injecting nozzle provided on stored liquid surface side of suspended ceiling which is hung from the inner roof of tank so that it covers the liquid surface. CONSTITUTION:The detecting signal, which is sent out by detecting, in advance, generation of rocking waves A caused by rocking of liquid W in tank 1 by sloshing phenomenon of earthquake, operates pump 13 on gas feeding system 11 to supply gas such as nitrogen gas which is injected to liquid W side from gas injecting nozzle 10, to header 9 from the cylinder 14 through pipe 12. Injected gas is blown into the liquid through crests of rocking waves A to form the foam. Liquid containing foam does not generate negative pressure or give impact pressure when it hits the ceiling. Therefore, resistance against earthquake can be improved.
