Abstract
PURPOSE:To prepare the title compounds through smooth dehydrohalogenation, by using a palladium or palladium compound supported on a specific polyamide as a catalyst in bringing aromatic halogen ocmpounds into cantact with molecular hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:Aromatic hydrocarbons, e.g. chlorobenzene, etc. are dehydrohalogenated with molecular hydrogen using palladium or a palladium compound, e.g. an inorganic salt, such as chloride, complex, etc., supported on a polyamide consisting of metaphenylene isophthalamide as main structural units as a catalyst to give aromatic hydrocarbons, e.g. benzene, etc. The polyamide preferably consists mainly of 50-150 repeating units oxpressed by the formula. EFFECT:Stable aromatic halogen compounds can be made non-pollutable.
