PURPOSE:To manufacture reinforced composite permeable-membrane with high mechanical strength, excellent in stability and reliability, by joining fiber substrate previously coated with polymer adhesive to a permeable membrane. CONSTITUTION:In manufacture of,e.g., a tubular composite membrane by the above-mentioned method, a suitable support tobe 4 is inserted into a tubular permeable membrane 1 with the skin layer la at inside and the supporting layer 1b at outside in order to support the membrane. Then a woven cloth or unwoven cloth 2a coated with a polymer adhesive is wound around the membrane 1 to form a laminar layer, hereafter the layer is pressed and/or heated in order to join the woven cloth 2a etc. to the membrane 1 to manufacture a tubular composite membrane. Each of hydrous or dry membrane made of material, e.g., org. ester of cellulose, may be used for membrane 1. For the material of the woven cloth etc. (fiber substrate) 2 is used synthetic fiber, e.g., PF, PP, in addn. to various natural fibers. Vinyl acetate or acrylic adhesives are pref. used as the polymer adhesive.
