Abstract

PURPOSE: To economize fuel cost and reduce HO and CO in exhaust gas by miantaining the air-fuel ratio of the mixed gas at the theoretical air-fuel ratio or at a thinner air-fuel ratio.
CONSTITUTION: The apparatus is equipped with an 02 sensor 14 arranged in an exhaust system, a signal generating means 24 for generating signals according to the output of the 02 sensor 14, when the air-fuel ratio is smaller than the theoretical air-fuel ratio, a thimer circuit 26 which performs conduction for a fixed hours according to the signal described above, and an air valve device 28 which is operated by said circuit 26 to feed air into an intake system 22 or a fuel system. The constitution described above allows the air-fuel ratio to be maintained at the theoretical air-fuel ratio or at a thinner air-fuel ratio
