Abstract
PURPOSE: To convert regenrated water to water of good quality through reduction of ammonium ions therein and hardness thereof with the passage through cation exchanging resin and an anion exchanging resin in sequence.
CONSTITUTION: Columns 5 and 6 made of hard vinyl chloride are arranged in series on a line 4 for feeding a cooling water (regenerated water) to a cooling tower 2 of a heat exchanger 1 for a refrigerator. The columns 5 and 6 are filled with a strongly acidic cation exchanging resin and a weakly basic anion exchanging resin respectively. Intermediate water after adsorption treatment (water regenerated from domestic waste water) passes through the columns 5 and 6 in sequence, while other intermediate waters undergo a treatment with zeolite, activated catbon or the like before the passage through the columns 5 and 6. With such an arrangement, ammonium ions, hardness and other pollution factors in the intermediate water can be reduced so that a cooling water of extremely good quality can be obtained. thus improving reliability of the heat exchanger to pollution and corrosion
