Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain coating material which is economical, easy to handle, and excellent in performance by using phenolic resin of which carbon component is the mixture of graphite impalpable powder and carbon black as its bonding agent.
CONSTITUTION: Coating material which is obtained by blending 40 to 60 parts by weight of the mixture consisting of 30 to 70% graphite impalpable powder with 10μ or less granular diameter and 70 to 30% carbon block with 150m/100g or more oil absorption and 60 to 40 parts by weight of phenolic resin, for example, phenolic resin, epoxy denatured phenolic resin, nitrile denatured phenolic resin, etc., in weight percentage as its carbon components. It is desirable that this electrode coating material should be used in pasting type by properly blending solvent
