Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a glass package having a high reliability by fusing two sheet glasses, which are arranged to face each other at a preset spacing, with the use of glass having a low melting point and a special difference in thermal expansion coefficient from the sheet glasses.
CONSTITUTION: Two sheets of glass 1 and 1 are fuxed at their peripheral portions with the use of glass having a low melting point so as to produce a glass package having a flattened space. The glass 2 to be used has a thermal expansion coefficient higher by (0.3 to 4)×10-6/°C than that of the glass 1 within a temperature range from a room temperature to a fusing temperature
