Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the counter electrode capable of performing always stable toner supply by forming minute undulations on the peripheral surface of the counter electrode of the area portion holding toner with a ferromagnetic material and burying the undulations to an extent that toner supply effect is retained. CONSTITUTION:Minute undulations are formed on the substrate 21 of a counter electrode 20 and the undulations are coated with a ferromagnetic material 22, e.g., Ni, Co and their alloy or other, whereby the minute undulations by the ferromagnetic material 22 are formed. These minute udulations are formed preferably within a range of depths 1.0mum to 1.0 mm and pitch 0.5mum. And these minute undulations are buried by a non-magnetic material, e. g., synthetic resins, glass, ceramics, non- magnetic metal and the like. The extent of this burying is defined from the extent at wihich the crest parts of the convex parts of the ferromagnetic material slightly expose up to the extent at which the crest parts slightly bury in the non-magnetic material. Thereby, the counter electrode which is capable of performing good impact recording at a high speed and performing stable toner supply may be obtained.
