Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a molded article having improved aging resistance, by irradiating a molded article made from a blend of poly-α-olefin and a specific anti-oxidant with electron rays.
CONSTITUTION: 100 Parts by wt. of a poly-α-olefim composition is blended with 0.3W2.0 parts by wt. of tetrakis-[methylene-(3,5-ditertiarybutyl-4-hydroxyhydrocinnamate)] methane shown by the formula, molded to a desired shape, and irradiated with electron rays to give a molded article of a crosslinked poly-α-olefin composition. For instance, an electric wire, cable, etc. having an electrical insulating layer are produced. The compound shown by the formula is not damaged by the exposure to electron rays and has an anti-oxidizing effect
