Abstract

PURPOSE: A polypropylene is melt kneaded with a composition obtained from a mixture of a polypropylene and an olefinic rubber and an organic peroxide to produce readily in a short period of time title composition giving molded products with high impact resistance.
CONSTITUTION: (A1) 50-75 parts by wt of a crystalline polypropylene that is preferably free of additives causing discoloration and bad smells, and (A2) 25-50 parts of an olefinic rubber preferably ethylene-propylene copolymer, are melt blended to form 100 parts of a polymer mixture. (A3)0.01-1.0, preferably 0.1-0.5 part of an organic peroxide is mixed with the mixture and reacted in an extruder at a temperature from over the melting point of the polymer mixture to lower than the decomposition temperature, preferably 160-280°C to form a polymer composition (A). Then a crystalline polypropylene (B) and the polymer composition (A) is melt kneaded in such a ratio that the rubber content may be 3-20 wt%
