Abstract

PURPOSE: To let light beam always pass through the center of a lens and provide the still images of high quality by passing the signal driving a light spot polarizer to a low-pass filter, comparing the same with two reference voltages and moving the optical head forward or backward according to the output thereof.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of reproducing the information signal to be recorded in the form of density or undulations in the tracks of a rotary disc 6, the laser light from a laser light source 1 is passed through a half mirror 3, is deflected by a refecting mirror 4 and is stopped down to the information of tracks by an objective lens 5. The reflected laser light containing this information advances backward and its deviation from the track center position on a disc 6 is detected with a photo detector 7 via half mirror 3. This deviation detection signal is inputted to two voltage comparators via low-pass filter by a light deflector driving circuit, by which it is ompared with respectively different reference voltages, and depending upon above or below the reference votages the optical head is moved forward or backward so that the light beam always passes the center of the lens.
