Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide means for inserting and withdrawing fuel into and from a reactor in extermemly short time of handling the fuel by providing two cask trucks, one for feeding new fuel and the other for feeding spent fuel independently in operation.
CONSTITUTION: Rails 12 toward reactor container 11 are laid in a reactor storage container 10 with trucks 14 movable on the rails 12 for a reactor fuel carrier 13. Rails 15 are laid on the trucks 14 to move a unit 16 for detachably holding fuel or fuel moving pot. A storage container passing feeding chamber 17 filled with inert gas of high purity is formed at one peripheral edge of the container 10 to communicate with the exterior through door valves 19A, 19B and 21A, 21B. Rails 24, 24 are also laid across the valves 21A, 21B with cask trucks 31A, 30B movably arranged between new fuel storage chamber 25 and spent fuel treating chamber 26
