Abstract

PURPOSE: To save the electric power consumed at fuel atomizing time and to obtain preferably atomized mixture gas for an internal combustion engine by accelerating the atomization of fuel to form uniform mixture gas by a ultrasonic atomizer simultaneously driven with a fuel injection valve upon injection of the fuel from the valve.
CONSTITUTION: This fuel injection device has an ultrasonic atomizer 21 intermittently supplied with fuel by the intermittent operation of a fuel injection valve 2. This atomizer 21 is controlled synchronously with the valve 2 by a control unit for determining the every fuel injection amount in response to the operation of the engine, and consists of an ultrasonic wave expanding horn type block 21a of conically truncated member as mechanical vibration expander, a vibrator 21b resonated at set ultrasonic wave, an end vibrating piece 21t bending and vibrating at the same frequency as its resonant frequency, and a support 9 thereof, and is connected through a fuel conduit 21k to the valve 2
