Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement and stabilization of characteristics as a magnetic head by providing a heat radiating space between a head chip including wiring part and slide core without contacting the entire surface of the head chip to the slide core and effectively radiating the heat evolved in the head chip, particularly in the wiring part. CONSTITUTION:On the inside wall surface of a slide core 27a, the head retaining part 32 at the end part is bonded to a head element part 22, but the portion behind this and opposing to the wiring part 23 of the head chip 21 is bored in concave form to form a heat radiating space 33. The space 33 opens to the core 27a side part to allow free flowing of the outside air. This causes the heat evolved in the chip 21, particularly in the wiring part 23 at the signal writing or other to be effectively released to the outside through the spacing 33 without accumulating in the head. Thereby, the characteristics as the magnetic head may be improved and stabilized and the reliability enhanced.
