Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain crimped filament yarns having practical in the spinning stage at once, by jetting extruded filament yarns through the small nozzle at the end of a pressurizing chamber to a crimping part at tip of the chamber to form buckled yarns.
CONSTITUTION: The fiber-forming melt 10 extruded through the spinnre 1 into the pressurizing chamber 2 is jetted from the small nozzle 4 at the tip of the chamber 2 together with the high-pressure fluid fed from the inlet 3 at a high speed, and oriented while being cooled and solidified. The yarns reached the crimping part 7 are made to collide with the fibrous mass previously piled and buckled, then separated from the fluid and piled as the crimped fibrous mass 11, which is moved slowly downward by the pressure of the fluid and the impulse of the yarns at the collision against the frictional force of the permeable wall, heat-set at the heater 8 as required, and wound or collected by a can in the form of the fibrous mass.
