Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent reduction of torque at the time of high speed operation by selectively making chopping control effective or ineffective with the provision of a gate circuit producing AND of the output of an excitation control circuit and the output of a pulse generator. CONSTITUTION:A command pulse is given to a speed detector VD and an excitation phase control circuit ECL. In the speed detector VD it is compared with a preset speed, and when its speed is high a logic signal ''1'' is supplied to an OR gate OR1. The excitation phase control circuit ECL selects a coil to be excited. Further, the output of a pulse generator PG is supplied through the OR gate OR1 to an AND gate AND1, and when the logic output thereof is ''1'', a relevant exciting coil is excited by a drive circuit PMDV. Since the chopping control is made effective or ineffective by selectively holding the output pulse of the pulse generator PG, it is possible to eliminate the reduction of torque at the high speed operation.
