Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the easy and uniform fastening by setting the soft meterial between the respective contact surface of the pipe and the fastening ring.
CONSTITUTION: A gasket 5 is placed between a pipe 1 and 1, and a ring shaped soft material 6 is set in a contact conical surface 7 between a flange 2 and a fastening ring 3 respectively. Then, by fastening the fastening ring 3 by a fastening bolt 4, the pipe 1 is connected each other to seal the fluid which is inside the pipe. The force of the fastening bolt 4 in the fastening ring 3 is transmitted to the flange 2 through the soft material 6 placed in a contact surface 7. The soft material 6 deforms by the fastening force and the effect of the conical surface and it becomes attached to the contact surface 7 between the flange 2 and the fastening ring 3 respectively. Accordingly, the contact condition of both components is uniform in the contact surface 7 and the tencile strength of the pipe inside due to the local deformation and the production of the subsequent crack are prevented
