Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the seizure of an electromagnetic steel sheet at the time of strain relief annealing after temper rolling by coating the surface of the sheet after cold rolling an annealing with a treating liquid of a specific compsn. to form an insulating film. CONSTITUTION:At the time of continuous annealing a temper rolling of a cold rolled electromagnetic steel sheet, the sheet after continuous annealing is coated with a treating liquid contg. one or more out of chromic acid, phosphoric acid and their salts or further contg. an inorg. colloidal substance such as colloidal silica or almina and an org. material such as ordinary temp. curing type alkyd resin or maleic resin. THe coating is then heated to 100-350 deg.C in a short time to form a 0.02- 0.8g/m<2> thick insulating film in case of contg. the colloidal substance or a 0.3-1.0g/ m<2> film in other cases. At the time of strain relief annealing after temper rolling, the seizure of the sheet can be prevented owing to the film, resulting in no deterioration of electric characteristics as an electromagnetic sheet.
