Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible the automatic backup for the damage of the detector under all operational conditions on purpose to improve the accuracy of the automatic tracking, by compensating the lack of the signal with information about the rotational direction of the table in the rolling line, when the signal from the steel- ingot passage-detector is missed.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of detectors 151, 152, for detecting the passage of the steel ingot are installed at the boundary between zones composing the blooming line, the weighing zone Z1 and the rolling zone Z2; the tracking is carried out according to their detecting signals. When the steel ingot 17 is traveling under conditions such as T1WT4, if the signal S2 is missed depending on the damage of the detector 152, for instance, the signal for the rotational direction of the rolling table, additionally to the signal S1 of the detector 151, is used as the backup signal; and then, the tracking is carried out through discriminating the coincidence between this backup signal's pattern and the specified pattern.
