Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare isopropyl acetate, useful as a solvent, by the reaction of propylene with acetic acid, using a mixed catalyst comprising(a) Bi sulfate, which can be completely recovered and reused and has excellent heat resistance, and (b) hydrogen bromide in a molar ratio of 1 : 1 - 20.
