Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the air-tightness leakage of a swash-plate type compressor by providing band-shaped projections on the inner surface of a shell.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of band-shaped projections 18, of width W, are provided on the inner surface of shell 1 along the axis of the cylinder at fixed intervals. They are integrated with the shell when it is aluminum diecast. The top surface 19 of each projection 18 is cut, and thus the cylinder is provided with a plurality of top surfaces 19. Its inner surface D1 is set so as to facilitate the engagement with cylinder block 2. After finishing, some steps remain between projection top surfaces 19 and the inner surface of shell 1. Except for projection top surfaces 19, the inner surface of shell 1 is left unprocessed. Consequently, the problem of air-tightness leakage of a swash-type compressor is markedly improved, and also it is possible to save aluminum material needed for diecasting.
