Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable sharp waveform portions to be distinctly observed by automatically increasing luminance only near the sharp waveform and maintaining the original low luminance at the mild waveform portions.
CONSTITUTION: Signal T is applied to a detecting circuit 8 which detects sharp waveform portions, thence the detection signal thereof is supplied to a luminance signal generating circuit 9 which performs luminance signal control after having made waveform processing. The string of the detection signal corresponding to the generation of the sharp waveform is created at the (e) point of the luminance signal generating circuit 9 and the output having the time width determined by the time constants of C2, R2, R3 is obtained at the (f) point through transistors TR7, TR8, the output whereof is then applied to the grid G or cathode K of a Braun tube 4. As a result, the luminance increases automatically in a certain period from the point when the sharp waveform has arrived and therefore observation of the existence of the sharp waveform and the waveform itself may be distinctly accomplished.
