Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve the miniaturization of the apparatus and the reduction of cost without soiling of apparatus etc. at paper delivery by integrating a cylinder for winding recording paper and a recording paper dryer and providing a simple drying means. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic field generator 5 and a rotator 1 which is made to a hollow by a magnetic material metal for winding of recording paper of the cylindrical scanning type printer are provided and the rotator 1 is rotated within the magnetic field which the magnetic field generator 5 generates. Recording paper is wound on the rotator 1 and while this is being rotated, a carriage 3 is moved along a carriage scanning guide bar 2. When ink is then injected to the recording paper from the head 4, characters, picture images, etc. may be recorded through cylindrical scanning. In printing, the paper surface is wetted by the ink but the rotator 1 makes rotating motion within the magnetic field and therefore eddy current is generated in the rotator, by which Joule heat is evolved and the recording paper is thereby heated and dried. This enables the miniaturization of the apparatus to be achieved.
