Abstract
PURPOSE:The number of bolts that are operated for controlling the gap of lip provided in the path of the die is automatically limited when the deviation in the distribution of film thickness is large, thus shortening the time for adjusting the film thikness and increasing the accuracy of the thickness. CONSTITUTION:Thicknesses in the width direction are measured by each instrument and the deviation of the measured values in thickness is calculated by the arithmetic unit 3 to the set values corresponding to each bolt 3 for controlling the die. On the basis of the deviations, manipulated variables of bolts 3 are calculated according to the previously specified method. Further, bolts 3 are made to revolve by prescrived amount by bolt automatic controller 4 to deform the shape of lip for controlling die 5, thus modifying the deviation of film thickness. The results are measured by instrument 1 and the similar operations are repeated several times so that the film thickness is converged to the objective film profile in the width direction. When the deviation is large, the number of bolts operated is limited and when the diviation becomes small, almost all of the bolts are operated, thus shortening the time for converging the thickness.
