Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit the use of encoder in a place exposed to high ambient temperatures by collecting and isolating elements of a low allowable temperature from among control circuit elements into an encoder cover. CONSTITUTION:The encoder cover 7a is provided with the internal partition wall 10, the outside wall of the portion surrounded with the partition wall is given the slit S from which the open air is introduced, and the portion surrounded with the partition wall and the outside wall is housed with the control element A of a low allowable temperature. Furthermore, the heat shelter plate 8 is providee between the encoder cover 7a and the moter end bracket in such a way that the heat shelter plate is in contact with the motor end backet at its fitting portion and also a space is formed between its other portion and the motor end bracket. Such a structure enables the encoder to be used under a comparatively high ambient temperature condition because the heat from the end bracket and from the motor shaft can be interrupted and also the open air can be introduced.
