Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title varnish having improved high-temperature stability, capable of dispersing into a resin for a film to be baked, making an insulated wire having improved surface smoothness of the film, by adding a specific amount of a thickening agent to hot-melt enamel varnish.
CONSTITUTION: A) 100 parts by wt. of solid content of hot-melt enamel varnish, e.g., a polyester is blended with B) 0.1W10 parts by wt. of a thickening agent, e.g., finely divided silica, to make a varnish composition, which is applied to a conductor directly or with an insulating material laid between the conductor and the composition and baked to give an insulated wire. The thickening agent of the ingredient B) preferably having particle diameters not more than 10.
