Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare dihydro-coenzyme Q10 (an electron transferring factor of terminal respiratory system), economically, in an industrial scale, by the use of specific microbial strain.
CONSTITUTION: Bacteria belonging to Cephalosporium genus and capable of producing dihydrocoenzyme Q10 of formula I, e.g. Cephalosporium acremonium ATCC 11550, are cultured in a medium at about 30°C for 50 hours to 10 days, and the accumulated dihydro-coenzyme Q10 is separated from the medium (esp. from the bacterial cell).
