Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the occupied volume of the system by distributing plural units of photo detectors in a matrix form at the reception part of the light receiving device in such way that these photo detectors may be put into a row when viewed from each line and that only one unit of the photo detector may exist when viewed from each row respectively.
CONSTITUTION: The light receiving system consists of prism 9, light receiving device 8 and package 7 possessing glass incident window 6. In such constitution, plural units of photo detectors are distributed in a matrix form on the surface of device 8 to form light receiving part 5 each with the equivalent high resolving power secured in case the photo detectors in the same units are aligned in a row. As a result, the volume of the light receiving device can be reduced, at the same time eliminating the adjustment for both the relative position and the parallel property of the light receiving part as well as facilitating an easy production.
