Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a process consisting of determining next deceleration control starting position on the basis of the direction of the shifts when the stylus of a tracer head has contacted with a model and the pick feed shift of said stylus and adjusting deceleration control starting position to model profiling starting end. CONSTITUTION:When a starting button is depressed, a sequence circuit SQC starts an approach circuit APC and controls gates GC1 and GC2 to transfer a transfer head TE. The configuration variation at the profiling starting end of a model MDL is detected through the medium of the shift direction signal and pick feed distance signal from said tracer head TR. A comparator COMP2 compares the contents of a counter RA1 and of a counter FB with each other and, if the both are equal to each other, feeds out deceleration starting signal DEC. Thus, said deceleration starting position can be controlled correspondingly to said configuration variation so as to be kept at an almost fixed distance from said model profiling starting end.
