Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate pressure resistance and cleaning, etc, of inside of piping for a nuclear reactor, etc, by inserting a pipe joint into top end of the piping and fixing a sleeve onto the piping by bolts.
CONSTITUTION: This pipe joint is inserted into top end of a small diameter piping 10 to be used for cleaning, etc, and by tightening a bolt 28 hinged to a body 20, a cylindrical sleeve 24 is pressed against exterior surface of the piping 10 and securely fixed by that friction. Further, the cylindrical sleeve 24 is piercing through a hole provided on the body 20 and hinged by a small screw 29 so that it will not come off the position. Now, as to an adapter 25, by tightening it, a gasket 26 and a packing 27 formed in a fluid passage 23 of the body 20 are pressed against end surface of the piping 10 so as to prevent water from leaking. Further, by connecting a pressured piping or a drain piping (which are not shown in the sketch) to the adapter 25, drain watr, etc, is to become able to be drained. And after completion of cleaning, etc, this pipe joint is to be removed by loosening the bolt 28.
