Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve holding power and let the bearing stone withstand impact sufficiently by melting at least one of the bearing stone and substrate at the bond part of both.
CONSTITUTION: After a bearing stone 3 is press fitted into a substrate 4, the bont part of the bearing stone 3 with the substrate 4 is melted with laser light 5, whereby a recess 6 is formed in the bearing stone 3. Thereafter, the substrate 4 at the same position as the recess 6 of the bearing 3 is melted by the laser light 5 to let the portion flow into the recess 6 thereby providing a raised part 7 and surely binding the same. Since continuous working may be readily accomplished in this way, it may be executed without any increase in cost. Thus far, the bearing stone had been press fitted with undue force in order to increase its fixing power and therefore the chipping of the bearing stone had occured and resulted in decreased yield, but such disadvantage is eliminated.
