Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the fine adjustment of pressure loss in resistor tubes without effecting mechanical alteration, by coupling auxiliary resistor tubes for the adjustment in parallel with the resistor tubes.
CONSTITUTION: The pressure loss in the resistor tubes 4 is calculated in consideration of all the resistor tubes 4 and one of the auxiliary resistor tubes 19. If the actual pressure loss is different from the calculated value, the flow rate through the auxiliary resistor tubes 8 is regulated to adjust the pressure loss. If the actual pressure loss is lower than the calculated value, stop valves 18 installed in the auxiliary resistor tubes 19 are entirely closed to adjust the pressure loss. If the actual pressure loss is higher than the calculated value, the stop valves 18 are entirely opened to adjust the pressure loss. To effect the fine adjustment, the capacity of the auxiliary resistor tubes 19 is set at about 5% of the total capacity of both the resistor tubes 4 and the auxiliary resistor tubes 19.
