Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I: (R is 1W4C alkyl group; X is halogen, cyano, or nitro group; Y and Z are H or halogen).
EXAMPLE: O-cyclopentyl-O-methyl-O-2,4,5-trichlorophenyl phosphate.
USE: Agricultural and horticultural fungicides having effective bactericidal actions, growth inhibition and after effects on plant pathogenic fungi, and remarkable effects on particularly blast, low toxicity to warm blooded animals and no damage to cultured plants in normal use concentrations.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II: (Hal is halogen) is reacted with a compound of formula III: (M is H, alkali metal, or ammonium group) or its salt in a solvent, in the presence of an acid binder, e.g. an alkali metal hydroxide, at a temperature of -20°C to the boiling point of the mixture to give the objective compound of formula I.
